Special Events
Junior Achievement of West Virginia and the Advantage Valley hold several special events annually to raise funds to support its economic education programs. The Bowl-A-Thon, The Business Hall of Fame, and Tri-State Leaders Classic Golf Tournament are the biggest events held each year. Bowl-A-Thon
During the month of February Junior Achievement holds two Bowl-A-Thon's. One at Colonial Lanes in Huntington, WV and one at Venture Lanes in St. Albans, WV. Local businesses gather teams of five bowlers each to raise pledges and have fun for JA. Each bowler receives 3 free games of bowling, free shoe rental, and a Bowl-A-Thon T-shirt.
Firm coordinators are chosen for each firm to recruit teams. Each team appoints a captain who passes on information to the team members and collects pledges. Each team is asked to raise a minimum of $450 ($90 per person). After expenses, the team's pledges cover the cost of one JA class. The top fundraisers from each event are eligible for major prizes. Bowlers are also eligible for door prizes the day of the event.
Firms may also participate by donating door prizes or sponsoring T-shirts. In return for a shirt sponsorship, firms receive their logo on the back of the T-shirts, recognition the day of the event, recognition in the Bowl-A-Thon newsletter, and recognition in JA's Annual Report sent out in December.

Business Hall of Fame
Junior Achievement's Business Hall of Fame has been established to celebrate the accomplishments of individuals who have had a lasting impact on the free enterprise system and improved our way of life in West Virginia. West Virginia's business leaders have contributed greatly to the betterment of our community. In honoring our Laureates, we hope to inspire others, especially young people, to pursue excellence as well as their dreams for a better tomorrow.
Local firms sponsor the event which consists of a dinner, speaker and awards presentation.

Tri-State Leaders Classic Golf Tournament
Junior Achievement's Golf Tournament is held each year during the fall. Golfers have an opportunity to win great prizes, including drivers, golf bags and pro shop gift certificates. This year golfers also have the opportunity to win $10,000 by making a hole in one.
Area businesses sponsor the event. Sponsorships include opportunities to be featured on media promotions, be entered in the tournament, and have a sign on a tee. More information on sponsorships can be obtained by contacting the JA office.
Golfers may sign up to participate as a foursome for $400 or an individual for $100.
