Junior Achievement of West Virginia

Teachers from all grade levels work with Junior Achievement to bring economic education programs to their students. Teachers work with the volunteer consultant to set up dates and times for the consultant to visit the classroom and present the materials to the students.

Tips for Teachers
  • Remain in the classroom at all times.
  • Help keep the discussion on track.
  • Create a positive environment for learning by preparing the students for the consultant's visit each time.
  • Reinforce the consultant's presentation with review and quizzes.
  • Interpret unclear communication between consultant and students.
  • Plan to coordinate material, props, and audiovisual assistance.
  • Evaluate progress and problems with Junior Achievement staff.
  • Have students write thank you letters to the consultant at the end of the program.
